Clothes for little people…..

November 1, 2012 § 1 Comment

The ongoing collaboration with Kathleen Waite of Peppin Boutique in Herne Bay extends beyond window drawings. I have written about these in previous posts, but I had also created some drawings to be used for individual garments, as well as a textile design.

Over time, these designs have become available in the boutique, beginning first with the screen-printed garments and most recently, with the textile design printed on ivory-coloured cotton utilised for the creation of many lovely little clothes.

Below are photographs, courtesy of Peppin boutique, of a selection of the garments available

The textile design was created from many little drawings of animals and children engaging in playful activities, in keeping with the aesthetic of Peppin Boutique and referencing children’s storybooks and illustrations. Below are photos of the clothes created from the textile.

The leggings were featured in New Zealand Herald’s Canvas magazine, which focused on children’s clothing

Kathleen also creates an online magazine for Peppin, called Peppin le zine, where she showcases her designs. Below are some pages from the online publication featuring the garments.
